Dr Xu Gu
Patent ParalegalXu joined Lawrie in July 2026, bringing more than 10 years of intellectual property experience and a strong technical background spanning software engineering, computing science and computational biology.
At Lawrie, Xu supports our patent attorneys with preparing and filing applications, conducting patent searches, managing portfolios, and assisting with contentious IP matters.
Passionate about science and technology, Xu enjoys working with innovative businesses and helping clients secure protection for their inventions. She is motivated by seeing great ideas develop into successful products that support business growth.
Prior to joining Lawrie, Xu held a broad IP support role within a specialist intellectual property firm, where she progressed to become a part-qualified patent attorney.

A bit about Xu
Outside of work, Xu swaps patents for peaks, pools and purl stitches. She enjoys hill-walking, swimming and knitting, and is always happy to take on a new challenge, whether outdoors or with a pair of knitting needles.
