Samantha Moreton

Samantha has been part of Lawrie since 2017 and works in our chemistry team.

Working in the fields of chemistry and biotechnology, with particular expertise in compositions of
matter, formulations, pharmaceuticals, biofuels and renewable energies, organic semiconductors, polymers, chemical processes and medical devices, she enjoys encountering new ideas and technologies.

Guiding her clients through processes including drafting and prosecution of global patent families and IP audits, she also advises on IP strategy, due

diligence reviews, preparing and filing of registered designs, freedom to operate opinions, ownership advice and infringement opinions.

Before joining the Lawrie team, Samantha worked as an Analytical Chemist for a contract research organisation that specialised in the analysis of pharmaceutical and agrochemical products.

Samantha is motivated by supporting her clients on their IP journey and advising them on protecting their IP to underpin their long-term business strategies.

  • BSc (Hons) Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry (University of Glasgow)
  • Ph.D Chemistry (University of Strathclyde)
  • Student Member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA)
  • European Patent Attorney
  • Member of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (EPI)

Whilst Samantha now ensures our clients' IP strategies remain buoyant, she was once a qualified lifeguard and competitive swimmer.
