Victoria brings expertise in electronics and software technologies.

Victoria is a Chartered and European Patent Attorney specialising in physics-based and computer-implemented inventions, with particular expertise in electronics and software technologies. Throughout her career she has worked with a diverse range of clients, from individual inventors and university spin-outs to SMEs and multinational corporations, including direct collaboration with in-house counsel.

Victoria is well-versed in guiding clients through the complexities of patenting computer-implemented inventions in Europe and the UK.

She has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications across a wide range of technical fields, including medical technologies, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, oil and gas, automotive, and space sector technologies. Victoria is particularly skilled in developing commercially focused patent strategies, including targeting competitor products and technologies underpinning emerging industry standards for which she utilises her experience in conducting standard essential patent (SEP) analysis in high-tech fields.

Her practice also includes conducting freedom-to-operate and infringement assessments that support her clients with commercialisation matters.

Victoria is motivated by tackling complex technical challenges and enjoys working closely with clients to understand their innovations in depth. She takes pride in building strong relationships enabling her to provide tailored, commercially relevant advice that helps clients maximise the value of their intellectual property.

Qualifications

  • Master of Physics (MPhys) in Astrophysics (University of St Andrews)
  • PhD in Astrophysics (University of Edinburgh)
  • Chartered UK Patent Attorney
  • European Patent Attorney
  • Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA)
  • Member of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (EPI).
